Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

New Dwellings

We can provide EPC's for new dwellings in accordance with Part L of the building regulations which require all new domestic dwellings to provide the building control officer with a copy of an energy performance certificate EPC prepared by an “on construction domestic energy assessor” (OCDEA) prior to building control completion and final sign off.

The EPC is generated by using the SAP Calculation, if you have used BEAT Solutions to prepare your SAP calculation, this will enable a quick production of your EPC as we already have most of the information ready and to hand.

Don't forget! Use our New Build Pack service to save money and hassle by combining your SAP, EPC, Air Permeability Testing, Extract Ventilation Testing, Water Efficiency Calculation and Acoustic Testing (if applicable) all together.

New Commercial Buildings

We can provide EPC's for new commercial buildings in accordance with Part L2a of the building regulations which require all new commercial buildings to provide the building control officer with a copy of an energy performance certificate EPC prepared by an “non-domestic energy assessor” (NDEA) prior to building control completion and final sign off.

The EPC is generated by using the SBEM Calculation, if you have used BEAT Solutions to prepare your SBEM calculation, this will enable a quick production of your EPC as we already have most of the information ready and to hand.

When should I get my EPC?

For new dwellings and buildings, the EPC will be produced once the construction works are complete and the property has been air tested. The EPC is requiredfor final building control sign off.

How long does it take to get a EPC calculation?

Generally for new buildings an EPC takes about 2-3 days to produce once we have all the necessary evidence and information, we suggest however you allow 1 week from appointment to allow for busy periods.

What do you need to produce a EPC?

For new buildings we require as built drawings including plans, sections, elevations and site plan together with a as built specification for the materials and insulation together with confirmation of the installed heating and hot water appliances and other building services. Dont forget your new build air test, which is required for inclusion in the EPC.
