Planning Approved for New Dwellings in SDNP

BEAT Solutions were delighted to have supported Southcott Homes with the pre-planning works on the latest project in East Meon. Working alongside other consultants including leading consulant Brunnen & Co Consultancy the project was eventually one on appeal and the whole team are delighted in the final project.

We supported the client in preparing preliminary SAP calculations for the proposed dwellings to establish the energy and sustainability credentials for the project. One of the major policies of the South Downs National park is SD48 which requires the development to achieve a 39% improvement over standards building regulations. With the scheme being off grid, we had to be creative whilst working with the clients initial design ideas. The final scheme will deliver 12 new energy-efficient properties incorporating solar PV and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR). 

Additionally the scheme includes one property to be built to the Passivhaus standards. We look forward to this project starting on site and supporting Southcott homes through the construction period and final certification of the passive house.
